The beaches in the region of Lagoa, Mole and Joaquina beach, are always bustling. It is also the scenario for surfing competitions, kite-surfing and sailing among other sports. Joaquina Beach
It is one of the best beaches with infra-structure for visitors. It is known for its excellent conditions for surfing and for holding surfing competitions. Visited by young people, it is the stage for many concerts during summer season. It offers services such as parking, life-guard, Tourist Terminal, craftwork shops, restaurants, bars, public showers and toilets as well as night light.
Mole Beach
With cold water and great waves for surfing, it is not considered a beach for the children as bathing requires a lot of attention. It is mainly visited by young people and seen as the surfers’ paradise. It provides public parking as well as bars which open during the night.
Barra da Lagoa
Barra da Lagoa is the fishing core of the island. You can surf there but the water is not violent. It has many bars and restaurants. The main tourist attraction happens in July when the community organizes the Mullet Feast.
Sambaqui
Traditional fishing village it is a region with native families where tourist and summer holiday makers look for tranquility. Sambaqui community fights for the preservation of its custom and traditions through religions dancing and incentive to folk dancing groups such as Boi de Mamão. Apart from bars on the beach, Sambaqui offers good restaurants.
Morro das Pedras
Rough sea, clear waters, options of bars. It is where de Jesuit Retreat Home is located at the top of the hill with a breathtaking view of the Armação beach and Peri lake.
Pântano do Sul
It presents characteristics typical of a fishing colony and it is where you find one of the most important archaeology reserves of the island. The water is rough but the waves are not too big. Bars and seafood restaurants are available.
Canavieiras Beach
Nautical sports are ideal in the calm water of this service providing mini-centre. You can choose a cruise to Anhatomirim Island or rent a boat from the variety available.
Brava Beach
With its rough seas and vigorous crystal clear waves, it offers excellent conditions for surfing or diving. It also offers bars and restaurants of a very good standard.
Jurerê International
Calm sea and clear water beach. It presents excellent infra-structure in terms of bars, health clubs, shopping, restaurants and other services.
